The Ocho Homes Project, through the work of the Caricaco Foundation, formed an alliance with the Municipality of Nicoya, the Nosara Distric Council, the Nosara Civic Association, and Harmony Projects, with the goal of supporting the Nosara community every year. As a starting point, on June 10 the Municipality presented its district-wide vision, called Serenidad (Serenity), to local community organizations. This vision includes 28 “connection hubs” grouped into seven dimensions that guide development actions in the community.

Later, on August 29 and 30, a participatory workshop was held where organizations refined and presented the projects they hope to carry out with the support of the whole community.

Based on this process, Ocho Homes selected three initiatives to support: the community of Los Ángeles, the Bocas de Nosara High School, and the Dreamcatchers Foundation. These proposals correspond to the connection hubs of Safe Mobility, Good Coexistence, and Prosperous Families, respectively.

The specific contributions include:

– Community of Los Ángeles: Donation of the technical study to identify drinking water sources and determine the main well that will supply local families.

– Bocas de Nosara High School: Support to provide the necessary infrastructure for the school to become a Technical High School (CTP).

– Dreamcatchers Foundation: Donation of a pickup-style vehicle to facilitate logistical operations and support the community during climate-related emergencies.

Through this alliance, the support for these three organizations aims to improve access to water, strengthen secondary education in the community, and reinforce the extracurricular programs taking place in Nosara, where Ocho Homes hopes to be part of a developed, sustainable, and inclusive community.

The Nosara Civic Association thanks Ocho Homes, the Caricaco Foundation, the Nosara District Council, and the Municipality of Nicoya for their commitment to leading and coordinating these new community initiatives.
