RECONNECTING WITH OUR COMMUNITY: NCA’S NEW PRIORITY

Date

On January 24th, 2023, the NCA held its regular annual meeting in which the reports were presented, and the Board of Directors was elected in compliance with the bylaws.

The Annual Report was published (both English and Spanish) with all the information on the work carried out by the Association in 2022. Get the full report in english here.

At this assembly, the new President of the Nosara Civic Association, Bart de Graaf, a neighbor of Nosara for the past ten years, was elected.

“I’m humbled and grateful to have been invited to be a part of this team that works so hard behind the scenes to keep Nosara magical, and I aim to be a proactive member in this force for improvement toward a Nosara 2.0 that protects and supports its people, ecology and economy, inclusively and with heart.”

Also, the new Executive Director, Marco Villegas, was officially introduced as our new neighbor. Marco shared the 2023 Work Plan, whose main objective is to Reconnect the NCA with the Nosara Community and its vital mission to promote sustainable development for the benefit of all. The work plan includes three programs (Biodiversity Conservation, Community Planning, and Community Engagement) that will be implemented through 14 projects led by the new Staff and Board of Directors.

The NCA will be intensively activating an agenda of meetings with community organizations, contact with local leaders, and informative workshops with ticos and ex-pats community members.

“After nearly 50 years of existence, the NCA has a tremendous legacy in this community. Our priority is to reconnect this growing town to NCA’s vision of creating a model community that values the well-being of people and all living beings.”
